What's this book called?

It's about a boy in ellis island who goes on a field trip to a museum, he gets locked in after it closes, and he is scared, so he picks up a bunch of phones having different stories from people in italy, then he picks one up, and he actually has a conversation with the guy, it's like the recording came to life. I read it years ago in 6th grade and I just want to remember what it's called.
