I need a cheap home phone service?

do anyone know of any cheap phone companies that dont require credit check or a deposit i signed up for angles commucation an i was able to use the phone one day and they claim they was sending some one to fix my line and i been waiting a week i really need phone service and at&t is kinda high because there are cheap companys out there i just dont know who they are
