Why should the the wind energy industry be exempted from Migratory Bird and Endangered Species laws?

Wind turbines slice and dice thousands of eagles, hawks, falcons, geese, ducks and bats annually. Why should these “Cuisinarts of the air” not be called to task and face consequences for unprecedented disaster of wildlife?
