How could Jay Gatsby be considered a hypocrite?

I realize he is kinda the opposite but I need an example. I already said that he was a hypocrite because he is a social erfly at the party with Daisy but stands in the corner when she is not there. It doesn't have to be perfect and it can be a stretch like the last one. I would appreciate all of your thoughts. Thanks in advance.
